Learndot Component Resources
Resources are added materials that are supplementary to existing learning components. Resources can be documents (including .doc and .pdf files) , executable files (like .exe) which the Learner can download, a link to a URL which the Learner can browse to, or a Virtual Machine Resource that the Learner can launch.
Overview
Resources are a great way to provide extra content to augment your primary training material. Resources are typically added to a Learning Component (like a Course, Assessment, Content or eLearning) or an Event (like a Public class or an Engagement). The Learndot Administrator can select the timing of the access of these resources, too.
Types of Resources
First, you must understand what type of Resources do you want to provide. Since Resources can be delivered using various channels, Learndot has categorized Resources into three main types, namely:
Link Resources
Link Resources are typically those that consist of a URL link to a page that the Learner should peruse. To learn more about Link Resources and how to create them, check out this page.
Digital Resources
Digital Resources are typically those that consist of Digital files such as documents, audio, videos and other downloadable content. To learn more about Digital Resources and how to create them, check out this page.
Virtual Machine Resources
Virtual Machine (VM) Resources are typically used to complete Lab exercises in a virtual environment. They consist of virtual machines which are set up using Skytap and should be used to complete any Lab related exercises. To find out more about VM Resources and how to create them, check out this page.
