Reporting can be troublesome if not done right. However, reporting in Learndot helps you explore, analyze and share real-time business analytics easily.

Overview

Learndot Analytics is here to help ease the reporting for your business activities. Learndot Analytics accurately & reliably consolidates all your learning and business activities, without the need for building and running reports each time.

For a light-weight approach, Learndot also offers a native reporting engine. 

How is Learndot Analytics going to help your company?

To start with, Learndot Analytics has been created in such a way that it is extremely easy to operate. You don’t have to be an expert to use it. There are no complicated actions to complete, at the same time it is relatively simple to drill into data interactively and accurately across charts and tables. Since Learndot Analytics is built right into your dashboard, it provides quick and easy access to the major categories of reports in Learndot. With no complicated actions to perform, it's relatively simple to drill into the data across interactive and accurate charts and tables. 

Using Learndot Analytics

In Learndot, you can access pre-configured reports to view your day-to-day learning and business activities. At the same time, you have access to other wide variety of operations to help you to create your own Dashboards and Looks. Also, additional operations allow you to drill into and customize your reports further, and at the same time allow you to share and schedule your reports for delivery to other contacts in Learndot whilst having full control of who gets to see what. 

Reports in Learndot

The reports are available via the Administrator dashboard. To find these reports, log in as an Administrator and navigate to:

Pro Tip:

The Reports tab is home to the child categories. You can easily navigate to any Report category of your choice. 

Report Categories

Learndot offers a variety of Categories, which are laid out in the same style but showcase different data of your Learndot business. Reports in Learndot have the following categories:

Custom ReportsBuild your own Dashboards and Looks. Control the visibility of the Reports and share them with contacts in your organization. 
CatalogShowcases reports that include data about all subscriptions packages in Learndot.
CertificationsShowcases reports that include certification-related information in Learndot.
TrainingShowcases reports generated based on trainings, including all Events, Learning Components, and Enrollment data associated to them. 


Viewing Reports in Learndot

Learndot allows the Administrator(s) or someone with the right permission sets to view-only or even drill into the pre-loaded reports and edit, as well as save them in various categories.  Each category of Reports consists of Dashboards and Looks.

Pro Tip:

The Dashboard is a collection of Looks, displayed all on one page. Meanwhile, A Look is a static view of a set of data. 

Viewing Dashboards

You can view any pre-loaded Dashboards from the respective categories. Each category can contain more than one Dashboard, and at the same time, each Dashboard can house multiple Looks. For illustration purposes, let's consider the "ILT Delivery Status Report" Dashboard presented in the Catalog category. 

  • Click on the Dashboard tile or the name to open it 

  • After the page loads, you can add a filter option and/or run the Dashboard via the Run button

 

Pro Tip:

You can adjust the filter parameters if you desire, else proceed to click the Run button to load the Dashboard.

  • Wait for the Dashboard to load, such that it fetches the most recent and accurate data for you to view

Pro Tip:

Use the Gear icon to view and perform different actions. 

  • Download as PDF: If you want to export the data as PDF, you can use this option. 
  • Download as CSV: If you want to export the data as CSV, you can use this option. 
  • Send: If you want to share this report with other contacts, you can use this option to mail the Look to the people you want. 
  • Schedule: If you want to schedule a delivery of this Look to any contact, you can use this option. To learn more about scheduling, click here

Viewing Looks

You can view any Looks that are bundled together in the respective categories. Each category consists of pre-constructed Looks. For illustration purposes, let's view the first Look called "Subscription Packages with Learning Components" presented in the Catalog category. 

  • Click on the Look tile or the name to open it 

  • Wait for the Look to load, such that it fetches the most recent and accurate data for you to view

Drilling into Looks

Continuing from above, to further understand your data, you can drill into the Looks. After the Look is done loading, you can click on the Gear icon to view other available options. Or, if your Look contains any Measures (highlighted in Orange), you can drill into the respective data immediately.

  • Pressing the Gear icon will open up another set of options for you

What do these options mean?

You are allowed to perform specific actions, and at the same time, some are greyed out. Well, what are the things that you can do? 

  • Download: If you want to download this Look on your local computer, you may proceed to click this button. You can download the Look in different formats (e.g., PNG, JSON, CSV and others), to learn more click here
  • Clear Cache & Refresh: If you have made some changes to the report, you can use this option to clear the previous cache and refresh the Look. 
  • Explore from here: If you choose to explore from here, you will be taken to the edit mode where you can make adjustments to include or exclude Dimensions or Measures from the Look.
  • Save as a Look: If you want to save the changes you have made, you may proceed to click this button. 
  • Send: If you want to share this report with other contacts, you can use this option to mail the Look to the people you want. 
  • Schedule: If you want to schedule a delivery of this Look to any contact, you can use this option. To learn more about scheduling, click here


Meanwhile, if your Look has any Measures, you can click on the respective Measure to drill into the data. For illustration purposes, let's look at the first Subscription Package.

  • Click on the Learning Component count, as shown below

  • You can see all the Learning Component Names along with their respective IDs and URL Names, which are part of the Subscription Package

Download Results

You can download the results into a file using any of the offered file format types. To learn more about the various export types and download option for Looks, click here

Explore from Here

If you choose to explore from here, you will be taken to the Edit mode where you can make adjustments to include or exclude any Dimensions and/or Measures. 

After making changes (if any), you can use the Gear icon to save it or perform different actions according to your needs. 


What Else Can You Do?

So, apart from viewing Looks and Dashboards, and creating insightful and in-depth reports. You are also allowed to:

Suggest a Report

You may question what it's for, well as you wonder, you can suggest a report if it is not included in the bundled category offerings. The suggestion will go directly to our development team and will be considered for implementation depending on the demand for the report. To suggest a report:

The Reports page and all it's child categories contain a "Suggest a Report" button. So you can literally suggest a report from anywhere in the Reports section!

  • Simply click on the Suggest a Report button that appears on the top-right of the screen
  • Fill in the necessary fields for the Report you desire to be added into the category

  • Press Submit to send an entry over to our Learndot development team


Change a Report View

All Reports in Learndot are viewed either in a Tile or List view. However, if you wish to change it to a List view, follow these steps:

Pro Tip:

By default, all Reports are sorted in a Tile view.

  • Navigate to the category of reports you wish to see in a List view. For illustration purposes, let's use the Catalog category:


  • Click the List View button to alter the view to List mode:


  • And, that's all! 

Pro Tip:

Click the same button on the top right to change the view back to Tile View.
