Configuring Payment Gateways

Payment gateway configuration is done under the System > Payments > Payment Gateways in the Learndot administration. Two general types of payment gateways can be configured: global and provider specific.

Global payment gateways are ones that are made available to all customers during checkout. If no custom payment gateways are configured for a provider, the global gateways will be used.

It is recommended that at least one global payment gateway is configured and enabled.

Configuring a Global Payment Gateway

To create a global payment gateway:

  • Navigate to System > Payments > Payment Gateways
  • Click on the Add New Payment Gateway button from the payment gateways administration screen

  • You will be prompted to select the type of gateway you want to configure

  • Click Next, provide the required configuration values on the payment gateways configuration screen. Fields and required configuration will differ according to the type of gateway selected

  • Save. So that, the configuration will add a new global payment gateway to Learndot payment options during checkout.

Configuring a Provider Custom Payment Gateway

Provider Custom Payment Gateways allow flexibility in configuring payment options for Learning Components from specific providers. For example, you may want to configure an alternative credit card processor used to process payments for training events delivered by overseas providers.

When viewing the payment gateway administration screen, each provider will be listed under the heading PROVIDER CUSTOM PAYMENT GATEWAYS. By default, provider-specific gateways will be disabled. To add a custom payment gateway to a provider:

  • Click the Configure action next to that provider
  • In the next screen, click Enable to activate a custom payment gateway for this provider. The remaining steps will be identical to configuring a global payment gateway as per above
