Proof of Completion

Configure Learning Components to automatically generate Proof of Completion certificates.

Overview

Learndot can be configured to generate “Proof of Completion” certificates when a Contact completes a Learning Component.

The certificates are highly customizable, with the ability to select the background, logo, font, placement, and display information. Customization is achieved by the use of a standard Learndot feature, Templates.

Once generated, the Proof of Completion certificates are sent to the Contact by email, and also available on the Learner Dashboard.

Setup & Configuration

Setup options are available for staff contacts with the System Setting Write Permission under System > Generate Certificates > Proof of Completion in the the Learndot administration interface.

The feature can be set up with the following steps:

  • Set up the desired Templates (Required)
  • Enable / disable feature for site, and by type of Learning Component (Required)
  • Specify templates for site, and by type of Learning Component (Required)
  • Enable / disable feature for individual Learning Component (Optional)

NOTE: For the best "User Experience" in viewing Proof of Completion on your Learning Instance, please ensure the image used is on the recommended dimension of
"1101px x 825px". Any dimension, smaller than the recommended dimension will show a the presence of white background on the background as a border lining.
For any further assistance, please reach out to our Support Team at support@learndot.com.

Step 1: Set up the desired Templates (Required)

Complete the following steps:

  1. Create a new template (Create Template button) or copy the existing sample template
  2. Edit the template using HTML
  3. Preview the template to validate the desired look and feel
  4. Repeat Steps 1 - 3 until the desired number and style of templates have been created

  5. Customize email communications if desired, by editing the following default email templates:
    1. email.template.proof_of_completion: This represents the email received by the learner when a new Proof of Completion certificate is generated, when an existing one is sent manually at the administrator's request, or when the administrator regenerates a certificate.
    2. email.template.proof_of_completion.sent.notification: This represents the email received by the administrator when a Proof of Completion certificate is sent to a learner, as confirmation that the email was sent to the learner.

Step 2: Enable / disable feature for site, and by type of Learning Component (Required)

See step below – Step 3: Specify templates for site, and by type of Learning Component (Required)

Step 3: Specify templates for site, and by type of Learning Component (Required)

By default, Proof of Completion certificate generation is disabled.

  • Enable / Disable the feature for the entire site:
    • Set the "Enable Automatic Proof of Completion for the site" to Yes
    • This setting acts as the "Master switch" for this feature;
    • Setting to Yes enables the feature for the site, and set to No disables the feature for the entire site.
    • Select a template for the site.
  • Enable / Disable the feature for individual Learning Components
    • This is a required step after the above step is completed.
    • Select a template for each enabled Learning Component

Step 4: Enable/disable the feature for individual Learning Component (Optional)

Individual learning components are, by default, enabled or disabled based on the parent configuration selected (in Step 2).

This configuration can be overwritten at the level of each individual learning component. To do so:

  • Find the learning component
  • Edit the Proof of Completion configuration for the Learning Component
    • Selecting "Inherit" will overwrite the individual configuration with the parent setting
    • Selecting "Yes" will always generate a Proof of Completion certificate for this learning component, regardless of the parent configuration
    • Selecting "No" will never generate a Proof of Completion certificate for this learning component, regardless of the parent configuration
  • Save the changes

Viewing Proof of Completion Certificates
