Configuring Email Notifications

Overview

Learndot provides a set of email notification feeds, which can be used to provide email alerts when certain events are triggered. A staff user can subscribe to these notifications in the following ways:

  • A staff user can subscribe himself through his profile setup
  • A staff user can be subscribed to by an Administrator

Only staff users can subscribe to these notifications, please refer to the Contacts documentation for instructions on setting up a contact as a staff user.

Managing your Subscriptions

A user with the appropriate permissions can modify which system events they are subscribed to using the following process:

  • Navigate to the Your Account page
  • Under the Account tab, scroll down to the Emails & Notifications sections
  • Check/uncheck the boxes as appropriate. See the last section for a description of each subscription type

  • Hit Save

Managing a User's Subscriptions

A user with the appropriate permissions can modify another user's subscriptions through the Admin Dashboard using the following process:

  • Go into the Admin Dashboard and navigate to the desired Contact page
    • Go to Customers > Contacts
    • Click on Edit icon
  • Scroll down and look for the Notification Subscriptions field inside the 'Login' section
    • As you type in the textbox you can select your subscriptions one by one. You can also click Select All to subscribe to all notifications

  • Select the subscriptions as appropriate and then save your changes. See the last section for a description of each subscription type.


Available Subscriptions

The notification feeds supported by Learndot include:

Notification CategoryDescription
SystemNotifications are sent when any errors experienced by the system. Includes stack traces and other technical information.
OrderNotifications are sent when an order of any type is submitted.
Product PurchaseNotifications are sent when any order line items of the type 'product' (i.e. purchasing a good/service) are purchased. Note that this means that if an order for three products comes in, you will receive three emails.
Registration PurchaseNotifications are sent when any order line items of the type 'registration' (i.e. purchasing a place on a course) are purchased. Note that the same logic is used here as for product items with regard to multiple emails from a single order.
Request for ContactNotifications are sent whenever the 'Request for contact' form is submitted.
Request for QuoteNotifications are sent whenever the 'Request for quote' form is submitted.
Request for ClassNotifications are sent whenever the 'Request for class' form is submitted.
Request for TalentNotifications are sent whenever the 'Request for talent' form is submitted.
eLearning Survey ResponseNotifications are sent whenever an eLearning survey is submitted.
Training Survey ResponseNotifications are sent whenever an post-training survey is submitted.
Training Assessment ResponseNotifications are sent whenever a training assessment is submitted.
Provider RegistrationNotifications are sent whenever a new provider is registered.
Affiliate RegistrationNotifications are sent whenever new affiliate is registered.
Expert RegistrationNotifications are sent whenever a new expert is registered.

Notifications are sent whenever a timesheet has been approved.
