Pages

Pages represents the non-core system pages used by Learndot.

Overview

Additional pages can be added containing static and/or dynamic content, and existing pages can be modified. There are 2 types of pages:

  • Content Pages
  • System Pages

Pro Tip

The first step to creating a new page is to specify its location within Learndot. For content pages, this is the location that the new page will be stored in.

To create a new page:

  • Navigate to System > Contents > Pages
  • Click New, on the top next to Pages

Redirect Pages

Redirect pages can be used to redirect a link on an internal page to a third party website or different internal page.

URL redirection via pages has been retired in favour of Custom Redirect feature. While all your existing enabled redirections via Pages have been migrated to the Custom Redirect rules, new redirection rules can only be configured via Custom Redirect.

System Pages

System pages automatically display Learndot information in a predefined format. As a result, they are not as configurable as standard Pages but are tightly coupled to the entity they are publishing information for. Unlike Content Pages their body and sidebar cannot be edited directly, instead attributes of the page can be reconfigured through System Settings and Blurb content.

Common Pages

These are pre-populated normal pages (non-system pages) that are commonly used, that may come with a new Learndot instance. It is highly recommended that they are reviewed to tailor made their content to suit one's needs - editing and disabling them as some of them might not be relevant - particularly pages highlighted in bold.

Dynamic Content

It is possible to add dynamic content to the new pages in Learndot using the FreeMarker templating engine.

Redirect Registration Pages

When offering courses conducted by a third party on Learndot , it may be desirable to redirect the registration page to the website of the third party running the course. In order to obtain the URL to redirect, append the class schedule id to the end of 'register/training/'. E.g. 'register/training/1' would be the registration page of the class with id 1.
