Editing Settings

Pro Tip

Before you modify any values, it is often handy to make a 'backup' by just taking note of the setting name and current value before you change it.

The exact way in which modifications will need to be made is dependent on the setting, but there is a general checklist that can apply to any settings changes that you make:

  • Use the Description field for guidance as to how to use the setting, and what it does.
  • Use the Type and default Value to work out what input is expected in the Value field.
  • Ensure that Enabled is set to 'Yes' if you want the setting to apply.

Boolean System Settings

Boolean system settings can be a little tricky as they have a couple of states.

FieldDescription and Use

Enabled

Whether the system setting is enabled or not. i.e. If the value is configurable and in effect. If a boolean system setting is disabled, a default value will be in effect.

Value

The value of the system setting when it is enabled.
