SCORM Package impacts with Google Chrome 80 Release

Learndot is aware that recent changes were rolled out to Google Chrome Version 80 on Feb 4th, 2020 that may have impacted how interaction statements are transferred between SCORM Packages and learning management systems. SCORM authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Captivate notified customers regarding the anticipated updates and provided guidance on how to reconfigure packages accordingly.

We are actively investigating how we can help reduce the burden on our customers from the SCORM engine perspective but in the interim, please read the following to understand the immediate workarounds available:

  1. Please instruct learners to use alternative browsers when viewing SCORM packages such as Firefox or Internet Explorer/Edge.

  2. Please instruct learners to not use Google Chrome Version 80 and downgrade their version. Instructions on how to downgrade their Chrome version can be found here.

Shared below are the articles that detail the recent changes made to Google Chrome as well as the release notes from the most frequently used authoring tools for SCORM Packages.
